Collin Palmer Named Head Wrestling Coach

January 24th, 2019 — The St. Francis DeSales Athletic Department is excited to announce that Collin Palmer has been named the new Head Coach of the Wrestling Program, effective immediately.

Collin developed his love for wrestling at a young age. Traveling the country along side his brother Lance, they very quickly became a powerhouse family in the sport. As a youth wrestler Collin began being recognized not only as one of Ohio's Top Wrestlers but nationally. Winning 8 State Titles and being a Six Time Trinity Award Winner in the Tulsa National Championship Series.

Collin attended St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio where he went on to become a FOUR TIME Division I State Champion with a record of 147-4. Throughout his high school career, he was a Three Time Ironman Finalist, Fargo All-American and Four Time Medina Invitational Champion. As a top recruit in the country he graduated from St. Eds in 2009 and went on to The Ohio State University on a full scholarship. Although his career was short lived due to a Career ending injury, this led him into the start of his coaching career.

Now, Collin runs one of the best Wrestling Clubs (CP Wrestling Club) in the State of Ohio. He has produced state and national champions and continues to produce top level wrestlers. His love and passion for the sport has led to his club being recognized as one of the Top Places to Train. CP Wrestling Club won the Team OAC State Championship in 2017 and 2018. St. Francis DeSales has served as the Home of the CP Wrestling Club since 2017.

Palmer has served as an assistant coach for the Stallions the previous two seasons.
